Since it is Friday, I thought I'd show you guys how I relax. I know the outfit itself doesn't look like sweatpants or lounge wear, but if you don't have a pair, American Apparel Disco Pants are such a great investment. They are shiny and comfortable. Nothing screams comfy like a cozy cardigan so it is included in my everyday fall style. I live in the land of the still-warm-until-November/December so cropped tops are still okay without catching cold. I really love this outfit because it is effortless style without trying so hard work to hard.
There is not much to say about this outfit other than I love it and it will be in repeat throughout the remainder of the fall season...well until it gets too chilly!

So I found these pleather leggings at Forever 21 and have been trying, (as usual), to find ways to wear it instead of my just my staple giant sweater. So I added a button up shirt underneath to add some variation, A bright pink sweater can be tricky to style, but never be afraid to try out every combination because the more you try the more outfits you'll come up with without even realizing it!
To pump the volume on this outfit I added my Splatter Paint boots to give it some balance.
Get your sunglasses ready, this is going to be a bright one!

I love going to the farmer's market especially in the fall. Who says you can't be stylish in the process. It's really in how you layer that makes a difference. Since it is not too hot and not freezing just yet I love wearing sweatshirts this time of year. But plain sweatshirts can be boring so I jazzed it up with a bright colorful print underneath. I found this sweatshirt at of all places Walmart. I've had it for a while now (like a few years), and it is still holding strong. The shirt I am wearing is actually a sleeveless floral top I made some time ago, but I love how the two compliment each other.
To twist this outfit even more, instead of using a normal jean, I went with a dark acid wash jegging that appears like a jean and is dark enough that you can see the wash, but it flows with the rest of the outfit. Normally I am not a fan of wearing heels to a market, (having to keep from getting my heels clipped by baby strollers should be a sport!), a kitten heel is still functional as long as you keep your load light - unless you are a boss - then I say go for it! For me I usually wear flats or boots to the market, but the pink heels I coordinated with outfit keep it feminine but functional.
Here we go!

My birthday was this past Saturday but I feel like I've been celebrating since the week before and am still celebrating. It never seems to last for only one day. With all of the coupons and freebies I am still enjoying the fruits of my birthday month! I have to give a shout out to my big sister Eva for my Bella slow cooker. It's so fantastic and when I use it for the first time you guys will get to see it!
People always ask me how I am able to get all of this free stuff. I simply let them know they can have it too simply by signing up for emails and rewards programs. It's just that easy. Having to redeem a free birthday gift from both Sephora and Ulta, I decided to find a facial mask that would help exfoliate my skin. Here is what I ended up with:
|| L to R || Sephora Anti-Fatigue & Energizing Mask | CK One Mascara in Black | Makeup Set with Eyeliner, Lipstick and Mascara | Origins Charcoal Mask ||
The CK One was my free birthday gift from Ulta (it's a full size tube!) and the makeup set was my free gift from Sephora. You can never have enough mascara! I have tried out the CK One and it is perfect for daily wear. It goes on quick and easy, but my favorite element is you can adjust the mascara brush to maximize your look.
I have also tried the Origins Charcoal Mask and it left my skin feeling so smooth. I instantly noticed a difference in my face. It felt moisturized but not oily. I used it Sunday and a few days later it still feels like I just used it yesterday. It is my new weekly mask.
I look forward to trying to my other goodies. Of course I didn't just go on the hunt for beauty items, but I found some fun pieces for fall that I cannot wait to wear:
|| Cardigan, Jeans, & Sweaters - Forever 21 | T-Shirts - H&M | Traveling Sketch pad - Birthday gift from my friend Julia ||
|| Boots - Aldo "Serinna" | Necklace & Ring - Forever 21 |Scarf - Birthday gift | Michael Kors bag & key chain - Birthday gift from my other older sister De'Adra ||
There were a few other gifts I received but I think the best part of my birthday was being able to relax and be thankful for seeing another birthday.
I always look forward to September for a number of reasons: 1) It is the beginning of the new fashion season! 2) It is the start of fall fashion - which is my favorite style season and 3) the most important - it's my birthday month! (Don't worry it hasn't happened yet!) Unfortunately where I live, the fantastic south, the weather will not be chilly here for a while. And because of that, I'll have to begin my fall shopping online. I was in a clothing store not too long ago and talked with one of managers. She was telling me depending on the region you live in, it can determine when certain styles of clothing will arrive in store. So since it is still toasty here, it may be a month or more until fall clothing will get here.
On a rare cool day, I decided to imagine if it were fall, how would I like to rock it. My American Apparel Disco Pants are a fall (actually an all-season - they're so shiny!) staple that never go out of style. Here I paired them with a bodysuit and my rocking horse shoes.
Since earlier today was post #200, I figured why not have a double dose of posts!
As you all know I absolutely love turquoise and bright fun patterns. I am ready to admit that I absolutely am addicted to leggings. This is the one things whether it stays in trend or not that I will always wear. They are so comfortable and are the perfect mate for all of my plaid shirts. Another great thing about leggings is that when they have really cool patterns, they can stand out in an outfit and even steal the show. In this case, the leggings are the star of this outfit.
Since the pattern is so dramatic and eye-catching I don't mind that I am not wearing a longer top. A busy pattern like this is very distracting to the eye so it is harder to see the normal lines you would see in leggings if they were solid.
Sometimes leggings can get tricky. The one thing about leggings is that if they start to get to big or the size is off, they are easy to fix. All you have to do is sew a stitch in the inseam (the seam inside the leg), all the way around, including the crotch area to help them fit. Many people think that by taking in just the leg that it will work, but honestly if you don't run the stitch all the way around, it will make the fabric on the legs tight, but it will give you a baggy crotch - it is not flattering at all.
Don't mind the bandage, but I am prone to anything when I get in the creative zone! I love this knuckle ring and I wanted to share it with you all.

And just in case you missed it be sure to check out post #200 if you haven't already! Be sure to check out the blog this week for some fun DIYs and Homemade Food Fun that you won't believe! Not to mention you all will get to see a peak into my art world.
I am usually not one to wear a lot of crop tops, but when I find one I feel comfortable in, I tend to wear it and incorporate it more into my wardrobe.
Keith Haring was an amazing artist whom I remember seeing a strong presence of in the early 90s through his artwork (which was painted on walls, worn on t-shirts - remember Clarissa from Clarissa Explains It All?). Forever 21 had a small collection featuring his iconic art in the form of dresses, shirts and even a bodysuit. When I saw the crop top I took a chance and loved the way it fit. This was one of the first styles I came up with for wearing this, but I can totally see myself wearing this top with my overalls. I have a feeling you'll see this top pop up again in a different way, but for now enjoy Summer Haring.

This shirt is so true to life sometimes. When we are consumed with different things, and they can cause us to over think. I also decided to add some fishnets. Usually I stay away from any stockings or hosiery on my legs because of the heat, but on just the right day it can totally work. If it were early fall I'd totally rock a beanie like the girl on the shirt. Keeping it casual sometimes stepping out of the box just a little.

There is nothing like a great deal in fashion! I am a firm believer of good things coming to those who wait and boy did I wait! So I added this BDG plaid shirt to my Urban Outfitters shopping cart a few months ago at the regular price. As you all know I am a HUGE fan of long plaid shirts. This one was no different, but I absolutely loved this particular one for its color combination.
Lucky for me UO sent me an email stating that items in my cart were on sale. And there was the shirt - it went from $60 to $9.99. I immediately bought it because I knew if I waited it would disappear. This particular color was no longer an option but somehow remained in my cart. Trust me I'm not complaining one bit. This shirt will definitely get a lot of wear time just like the others will. And since it is not fleece, I'll wear it year round.

Wow! I can't believe The Couture Butterfly has not only been viewed over 15,000 times, but it continues to be seen all around the world - you guys rock!
So in trying to find ways to wear my Dolce Vita Zenith sandals, I came across this simple idea of a skirt and crop tank. When I first tried this outfit together and looked in the mirror, I was shocked. I absolutely loved it! It is so comfortable and relaxed I could see myself wearing this quite often. Sometimes the easiest way to find new outfits is to closet dive and find pieces that can be worn multiple seasons. Since the faux suede skirt is unlined, it makes it more versatile in my wardrobe.

(For all the short girls like me: remember to always keep your skirts just above or above the knee. This is to ensure that you don't appear shorter than you are, plus it's so much more flattering.)

I know it's a little later than the post on the wedding, but when I went up to Maryland, I did get to do a little bit of shopping. Whenever I go on trips I like to plan part of my budget to go to stores and see what treasures I can find. Even though these particular stores I stopped at are all here where I live, I am a firm believer that different stores carry different things. That was definitely the case.
We ended up stopping in Arundel Mills. I am always looking for to stopping here. It literally has everything. If you walk out of that area (it's not just an outlet mall but there is so much to do around it), you are truly a focused shopper. There is something there for everyone.
I ended up stopping through a few stores, but didn't really see too much I wanted to buy. But I did find a few items at T.J. Maxx, Forever 21 and Payless.
Here they are:

I know Forever 21 can be a huge undertaking because there is so much stuff, but I managed to find these as I circled the store. (This is not even including everything I tried on.) Yes as you all know I have a weakness for teal, so I hit the mother-load simply but round the store. I'll be posting outfits soon - there has been so much going on with me and I would love to have more hours in the day.
What are some of your favorites for this summer?
